Garden Potting Shed – SOLD

“The Sunflower Cottage” was a fun build for us. The first vision for this shed was after a trip to New Zealand where our client saw a similar shed. The concept started to take shape and some sketches where created.

The search for materials began by visiting some of the local renovation centres and private renovations that had a good selection of old windows, doors and renovation materials. The original cladding came from a personal residence where we obtained rustic painted hardwood from the original homestead and the drying shed, we even were able to recover some of the original picket fence. This original picket fence worked nicely as window frames.

Much of the timber was in great condition and the patina of the original timber and windows looked fantastic and created a very authentic appearance for this Potting Shed. Another piece that was just meant to be, was the main beam for the veranda. In its original condition it didn’t even have to be cut, it fit perfectly!! We selected some new Spotted Gum for the front deck and some special pieces that we hand selected for the back potting bench.

This Potting Shed was a very special project for us and in the end the Shed was everything and more than we hoped it would be!
